Ferrari F1 boss Vasseur apologised to Leclerc for the miscommunication that cost him a grid penalty in Monaco, and says the team needs to understand how to improve communication.
The penalty dropped Leclerc from third on the grid to sixth, making his life much harder for Sunday's race, in which he eventually finished in the same position.
"Of course it's frustrating. Any weekend like this one anywhere it's frustrating, at home it's even more frustrating. But on the other hand that's where we need to keep our head up. Former Ferrari driver Jean Alesi and Frederic Vasseur, Team Principal and General Manager, Scuderia Ferrari"He's been a bit frustrated in Monaco for a couple of years now and for sure yesterday was tough," said the Frenchman.
"I think it's also due to the circumstances where its happened, into the tunnel and so on. But okay, we have to avoid to try to find excuses because it's the worst way if you want to improve, we just have to correct."Expanding on what went wrong, Vasseur said:"Under the tunnel, Charles was not able to see in the mirror where was Norris, and if you tell him after the tunnel he can see where is Norris, and avoid to be on the line.

F1 Monaco Grand Prix live updatesFormula 1 descends on its most iconic track on Sunday as drivers and teams race through the streets of Monte Carlo for the 2023 Monaco Grand Prix. They'll all be chasing World Championship points leader Max Verstappen again – unless Fernando Alonso can pull off lap one magic. Verstappen emerged from a thrilling qualifying session on Saturday with the pole position in hand. It's his first pole at Monaco, but he'll have to fend off a front row attack from Fernando Alonso on the first lap. There aren't many overtaking opportunities at Monaco, so the race could come down to the first corner and any yellow or red flags over the 78 laps. The race starts at 9 a.m. ET / 2 p.m. BST. United States viewers can watch on ABC, the ESPN app or F1 TV. U.K. viewers can watch on Sky Sports.Further ReadingVerstappen secures Monaco GP pole positionMonaco GP: A flawed track showed its magic in Saturday’s F1 qualifying thrillerHistoric, famous and punishing: Breaking down Monaco’s iconic F1 circuit(Top photo: CHRISTIAN BRUNA/AFP via Getty Images)
