Manchester United ended a run of three straight defeats with a 1-0 victory over Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday night.
Man United handed Jonny Evans his first start since he was resigned while Hannibal Mejbri and Scott McTominay were recalled in the three changes from their defeat against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League.
The game got off to a lively start as within ten minutes Zeki Amdouni came close to giving Burnley the lead with a well powered header towards the bottom corner but goalkeeper Andre Onana made a good out-stretched save. Man United raised their game and Evans found the back of the net on 25 minutes with a towering header in the box after a cross by Sergio Reguilon but the goal was disallowed by the Video Assistant Referee for obstruction on goalkeeper James Trafford by Rasmus Hojlund.
Burnley edged the possession stakes coming from the break but they could not test Onana, as Man United were happy to have them with the ball in areas they were not dangerous.
