Crowds took to the streets with signs that called for change: “No fashion on a dead planet,” “fashion=ecocide,” and “repair, rewear, rebel.”
, and they spent their days off showing the industry what a “100% sustainable” show might look like. I caught up with them outside Spring Studios with’s game photographer Phil Oh.
Edie Fine, 16, organized the “art build” with X.R. Youth artists and friends who came together to create looks for the show. Everything was secondhand or, in many cases, upcycled from trash: One girl wore a dress made entirely of nonbiodegradable bubble wrap, another wore pieced-together shopping bags from bodegas and McDonald’s, and a boy wore a tube dress scrawled with urgent messages like. Fiona Jarvis, 15, was one of the models in these photos.
