Dante Poole is beaming with pride after scoring his first-ever SAFTA nomination for his contribution to Hectic Nine-9.
TV and radio presenter, Dante Poole, is feeling grateful that his hard work is being recognised in the entertainment industry- after bagging his first-ever‘ at the age of 19. Following the show’s production hiatus, he landed a new gig as the host for the 17th season ofNow, he has scored a SAFTA award nomination and he says that this nomination means a great deal to him as it signifies that he is being recognised for his talent.
“I want to be in the room so I can explain why I might be a good fit. I want people to see my potential and make their own decisions. A seat at the table is all I want,” he adds.He adds that his dream is to branch out into acting, host a lifestyle show, and have his own radio show. “They have been consistent since the beginning and they recognise my potential. Sometimes you get discouraged in this industry, but my parents remind me that I am talented. They would even sleep or wait in the car while I am doing auditions. They are incredible.”
The 18th South African Film and Television Awards will be held over two evenings. The Craft show, celebrating the technical talents in film and TV, will be streamed live on the SAFTAs YouTube channel and various social media platforms on October 25, 2024.
