Jake O'Brien has become Everton's fifth signing of a busy summer transfer window
Everton have completed the signing of Republic of Ireland international defender Jake O'Brien from Olympique Lyonnais. It is understood the fee is in the region of £15m. O'Brien has signed a four-year contract and the 23-year-old becomes Everton 's fifth summer signing after the return of winger Jack Harrison on loan and the permanent captures of midfielder Tim Iroegbunam and forwards Iliman Ndiaye and Jesper Lindstrom.
“This season, I just want to play as many games as I can and help the Club get higher up the table. It’s an exciting time and it’d be good to end the season – the last season at Goodison Park – as high up the table as we can. “We’ve then got the new stadium, which looks great. Not just that but we’re shaping a team for the future and can push on.
