The centre back is expected to undergo the first stage of his medical on Monday after Everton's talks with Lyon advanced over the weekend
Jake O’Brien is due to arrive on Merseyside for the first stage of his medical on Monday. The 23-year-old centre back is closing in on a move to Everton after the club stepped up its interest during a busy transfer window. Talks with his club, Lyon, advanced over the weekend and have continued to progress. Work remains to be done to get the deal over the line but the Blues are confident of adding the Republic of Ireland international to Sean Dyche’s defensive options.
Like O’Brien, Lindstrom and Ndiaye were long-term targets that the club has felt in a position to act upon as transfer business has unfolded this summer, while Harrison’s return was labelled a priority after a positive spell with the club last season. Amadou Onana, Lewis Dobbin and Ben Godfrey have all been sold in deals worth a combined figure in the region of £75m.
