Eskom has announced that improvements in its generation capacity have allowed for the suspension of loadshedding each day until the evening peak:

The power utility has stated that loadshedding will be halted from midnight to 4pm, after which stage 3 will be implemented from 4pm until midnight. This alternating pattern will continue until additional updates are provided. There are breakdowns currently affecting 16,056MW of generating capacity, while 2,407MW of generating capacity is out of service for scheduled maintenance.

In the last 24 hours, one generating unit each at Kriel and Majuba power stations has been restored and brought back into service. During the same timeframe, breakdowns have resulted in the removal of one generation unit each at Duvha, Hendrina, Kendal, Lethabo, and Matla power stations from operation.

The ongoing delays in restoring generating units at Arnot, Camden and Hendrina power stations are contributing to the existing capacity limitations.until further notice
