You will receive a link to create a new password via email.Electricity minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa said he had stepped into negotiations between Eskom and City Power and they had been unable to "find each other".
“At the heart of this dispute is City Power, and by extension the City of Johannesburg, which is aggrieved about the accuracy of .” Ramokgopa said the current dispute centred on an October 2023 bill. “ until this matter is rectified, we are going to offset that which we think you owe us against the billing, and therefore we will pay you the difference.”Ramokgopa said he had stepped into the ongoing negotiations because Eskom and City Power had not been able to “find each other”. It was decided not to restart the negotiating process, he added.
There were state institutions that had the necessary capacity to do an assessment, which is why it was agreed that the South African National Energy Development Institute would take on the role, along with “someone who is technically competent”.The assessment was expected within the next 14 days. It was hoped that a “much more enduring solution” would be found after that, he said.
