The grey and white Lhasa Apso was taken in by a local in Oakley, near Dunfermline, after being discovered on Wednesday and reported to the Scottish SPCA.

The grey and white Lhasa Apso was taken in by a local in Oakley, near Dunfermline, after being discovered on Wednesday. The hungry male dog was in 'extremely poor condition' and was described as being 'emaciated'.

After being examined by officers from the Scottish SPCA he was rushed to a veterinary practice to be checked over due to his very thin condition and matted fur. The dog is now in the care of one of the charity's animal rescue centres but animal welfare officers are appealing for information. Inspector Gray said: “The dog is a grey and white adult male Lhasa Apso type dog. He is in extremely poor condition and emaciated. We took him to be checked over at a veterinary practice because of his very thin condition and matted fur.

“The dog is now in the care of one of our animal rescue and rehoming centres. If anyone recognises this dog, or has any information about his circumstances, they should call our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999.” Top news stories today Anyone who is concerned about an animal can also contact the SSPCA's helpline.
