Elon Musk has secured an additional R111 billion in financial backing for his purchase of Twitter.

Elon Musk has secured about $7.1 billion of new financing commitments for his proposed $44 billion takeover of Twitter Inc., the company said in a filing Thursday.

The investors named in the filing include Binance, Brookfield, Fidelity Management & Research, Lawrence J Ellison Revocable Trust and Qatar Holding. The company also said that a previously announced margin loan committed toward the deal was reduced to an aggregate principal amount of $6.25 billion from $12.5 billion .
