CAPE TOWN – The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) claims that President Cyril Ramaphosa 's act of hiding thousands of US dollars in a couch at his Limpopo farm is as problematic as his predecessor's use of State money to upgrade his KwaZulu-Natal residence in Nkandla. The party is challenging the National Assembly (NA) in the Constitutional Court for rejecting a report on the Phala Phala saga in 2022.
EFF's legal representative, Advocate Kameel Premhid, stated that the independent panel which reviewed the evidence against President Ramaphosa acted as a sieve, and that the NA's rules allowed it to dismiss a report that presented a prima facie case. The EFF argues that at the time of the vote, there was no evidence to support Ramaphosa and the African National Congress' (ANC) claim that the report was fatally flawed. EFF supporters are gathered to march to the Constitutional Court to demonstrate against the President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala saga
