One of the two people accused of first-degree murder in that case, Randall McKenzie, 25, was out on bail at the time for allegedly assaulting three people, including a peace officer, and for firearms offences. He was initially denied bail but later granted it. There was a bench warrant out for his arrest for failing to appear for a court date when Pierzchala was killed.Article content
