Editorial | PSL and Safa must be clear on fans’ return | At this point, football followers expect to be informed with one voice, as has been the case in other parts of the world where games are being played in front of grateful fans
It’s inexplicable for the PSL to say it will continue to bar spectators from attending games while Safa, the sport’s governing body in the country, has already convinced the government to grant vaccinated fans access to Bafana Bafana’s World Cup qualifier against Ethiopia on Tuesday.
The contradicting actions by the two bodies have brought to the fore yet again the brittle relationship between the PSL and Safa. It is clear that theyare not on the same page, as the PSL is basically implying in its statement that Safa is contravening the Disaster Management Act by inviting fans to attend the game at FNB Stadium in Soweto.Subscribe to News24 for just R75 per month to read all our investigative and in-depth journalism.
