This will increase the price Canadians pay for almost all good and services and specifically raise the cost of gasoline by 3.3 cents per litre to a total of 14.3 cents per litre since the federal government imposed the carbon tax in 2019, on its way to 37.4 cents per litre in 2030. Starting in 2023, for the first time, Canadians will pay a second carbon tax called the clean fuel standard to lower the carbon intensity of oil and diesel fuel.
