Duduzane Zuma , son of former president Jacob Zuma , has condemned the protest that took place outside his father's Nkandla homestead on Thursday. The protest was organized by a group of disgruntled Umkhonto weSizwe (MK) party members from KwaZulu-Natal who are demanding the reinstatement of three suspended Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) members. Duduzane stated that there must be harsh consequences for those involved in the protest and that they will not tolerate indiscipline.
The suspended members, Kwazi Mbanjwa, Thobani Zuma, and Sifiso Zuma, are accused of various transgressions related to party funds. Mbanjwa and Thobani are accused of refusing to hand over control of party funds from the KwaZulu-Natal legislature, amounting to R60 million, while Sifiso is accused of employing 60 people without permission. Duduzane's involvement with the MK party remains unclear, though he has been seen at several party gatherings with his father.
