The bus, carrying 31 students and volunteers from the Lancaster area was returning from a church retreat in Lake Champion, New York, when it crashed coming off of Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County.

In the latest press release, state police said that Wright appeared to have a medical emergency while operating the bus, as he could be seen on video losing consciousness as the vehicle traveled off of the roadway.

Police also said that no pre-crash defects were found during an examination of the bus after the incident that would have caused or contributed to the causation of the crash. After reviewing the police reports and medical records by the Schuylkill County District Attorney’s office, state police said it’s clear that Wright had a medical incident and based on that will not be filing any charges.
