Thick plumes of smoke billowed overhead as the fire was tackled by crews
A huge fire ripped through a vehicle in Tameside in the early hours before then spreading to a nearby garage in dramatic scenes caught on camera.
Videos taken at the scene show the car well alight by the time crews arrived, with thick plumes of smoke billowing overhead as the fire was tackled with hoses.At least three fire engines responded as well as officers from Greater Manchester Police. Fire personnel remained at the scene for a number of hours.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "Just before 2.15am in the early hours of this morning , three fire engines from Ashton-under-Lyne, Gorton and Phillips Park fire stations, together with the Technical Response Unit from Ashton, were called to attend a fire on Mellor Street, Droylsden.
