South Africa has lost one of its most dedicated public servants, whose life was defined by integrity, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to our nation’s progress.
Pravin Gordhan’s contributions to the public service and the development of our democracy have left an indelible mark on South Africa. His wisdom and courage during challenging times were a source of strength for many, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations. We may not always have seen eye to eye in our later years, but on the principle of a just, fiscally responsible, equitable and sustainable future for every South African, we were in accord.
As a nation, we owe him a debt of gratitude for his years of service and his relentless efforts to uphold the values upon which our democracy was built. My thoughts and prayers are with Pravin’s loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. May they find peace in the knowledge that his work touched the lives of so many and that his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
