'Doubling down': Alberta MPs react to Justin Trudeau's cabinet shuffle abpoli cdnpoli
“He can change faces around the cabinet table but at the end of the day, the same policies that are failing Canadians, that are making life more expensive for Canadians, are going to continue,” said Cooper.
“We have the right team, made up of accomplished people who reflect the diversity and talent of our country. Together, we will keep building a strong future for the middle class, and for all Canadians,” Trudeau said in a written statement on Wednesday. The new cabinet comes at a time when the government has faced criticism and scrutiny both in Canada and internationally over how certain portfolios have been handled, including allegations of foreign interference.
Among the seven ministers who have been dropped is Marco Medencino who held the title of minister of public safety. The end of his tenure has been filled with controversy including the government gun control legislation and the transfer of serial killer Paul Bernardo to a medium-security prison.Article content
