Springbok player, Deon Fourie reportedly celebrated winning the 2023 Rugby World Cup with his father who is the ICU, in the hospital.
After the Boks landed in South Africa on Tuesday, 31 October, they received a warm hero’s welcome from thousands of locals who celebrated them winning the 2023 Rugby World Cup. Soon after, Springbok playeris said to have rushed to celebrate with his father in the ICU in a hospital in Rustenberg,It has been a bittersweet time for Springbok’s Hooker and Loose forward, Deon Fourie after returning from flying the South African flag high in Paris, France.
For Fourie, his return to the country was exceptionally different and emotional as he knew his father was in ICU in the hospital, the publication reported. He was reportedly told about his father’s health problems at the Tonga match due to the seriousness of the matter.
Despite being told about his father’s health in the match, the 37-year-old Springbok player, Deon Fourie was named the man of the match after his stellar performance during the match between South Africa and Tonga. The match took place on Sunday, 1 September and by the end of the game, the South African national team beat their opponents with the scoreboard showing 49–18. The victory came after the Springboks lost 8-13 in the pool game against Ireland.
