DStv Premiership legend Daine Klate is set to become the latest managerial victim of trigger-happy Chippa United following an underwhelming start to the season. Read more here ▶️
Klate oversaw last night’s defeat to champions Mamelodi Sundowns in which Chippa put in a gallant effort only to lose the match in injury time when Peter Shalulile scored.
The result left Chippa stuck at the bottom of the standings with a single win from the opening seven games. According to well-placed sources, Klate was not present at Thursday's training session where the club pointed out that ‘the coach is not there anymore’. No indications were given as to what will happen with Klate, who has previously worked as the club’s reserve team coach.
Thursday morning’s session was overseen by Morgan Mammila sat on the bench in place of Bafana July who has been Klate’s right hand since the beginning of the season.Chippa are expected to make an announcement on the latest developments on Klate considering the contractual logistics, but they have already been engaging prospective coaches.
