The posters say those involved in the murders of at least 36 people during recent riots are heroes but, committee chairperson, Sham Maharaj, says the DA are actually zeroes.

Maharaj said, “it's so unfortunate and really horrible that such a poster has been put in Phoenix, calling people that had been involved in violence heroes." "The law has not completed its course in terms of the court case and so on so I'm not sure who is the hero and who is the zero, in this case. Certainly, the DA are the zeroes because they are now undermining the good work that community organisations have been putting in here."

"During the violence not one member of the DA was in the frontline of what was happening, we have to broker the peace and negotiations and we have built trust for three months. This is going to take us back another three months,” he said.
