There’s no question, British Columbia’s interior is all about mountain life and tranquillity.
The main chalet has a fun apres bar atmosphere with a great selection of local craft beer and top-notch pub delights. It’s a busy spot anytime after 4 p.m. but also great for lunch or dinner. If you’re looking for a chef’s experience, head next door to the Alto Kitchen and Bar. The cool long bar is perfect for a pre-dinner drink, or a quick appetizer. You can also watch how they make delicious 90-second pizzas in a 740 degree decorative pizza oven.
You can start your day with a fun ride, with the five-minute Village gondola connecting the lower parking lot and condos to the main chalet area. Inside the chalet, called Ski Tip Lodge, you’ll find a large ski shop, a ticket centre, and a good-size cafeteria with creative food selections like mac and cheese bolognese plus great hot dogs. Ski Tip Lodge is also a meeting place for the hourly village shuttle to and from Invermere which has some unique shopping and interesting restaurants.
My first day on the slopes was something I’ll never forget, reminding me of massive European resorts with three unique mountain side restaurants spread over 3,000 skiable acres and an impressive 4,265 vertical. Matter a fact, it’s so massive, it’s ranked #1 resort for most space per skier among the world’s 100 largest ski resorts by a European research survey. Half of the runs are suitable for beginners and intermediates, making for a perfect family holiday.
