Crime in Prince Edward County is down from last year's total
Prince Edward County OPP say that they’re seeing less crime now than this time last year.
At the Prince Edward County Police Services Board meeting today, Staff Sgt. John Hatch gave a report including crime statistics. The statistics shown show violent crime is down almost 24% overall, with sexual assault in particular down 40% compared to June 2021. Property crime is also reduced overall compared to June of last year, with cases of fraud in particular being down just over 32%.
