Only six minor incidents were linked to the games, held in Prince George from July 21 to July 24.
Prince George RCMP are applauding the athletes, spectators, coaches, and organizers of the 2022 BC Summer Games for hosting a safe and peaceful event over the weekend.
“We had very few complaints to police about incidents at the venues and everything was resolved peacefully when we did attend,” Prince George RCMP Supt. Shaun Write said. “From a policing perspective, this was a highly successful event for Prince George.” Police also removed two intoxicated people from venues when they wouldn’t leave on their own. One person left peacefully in a taxi and the other was arrested from being drunk in a public place.
Police were also called to keep the peace while games representatives met with angry parents and athletes after their team was disqualified, the RCMP said.
