Cricket South Africa’s president Chris Nenzani and 40 black former Proteas cricketers and senior coaches met in a video meeting on Sunday.

CSA has since launched its Cricket for Social Justice and Nation Building project, which aims to eradicate any racism, discrimination or feelings of exclusion from cricket, and plans around this formed a significant part of Sunday’s meeting. Sunday’s meeting saw an acknowledgement that certain wrongs were committed in South African cricket and that a process to correct them was necessary and urgent.CSA’s renewal, restoration and transformation process will be led by the chairperson of the transformation committee, Dr Eugenia Kula-Ameyaw.

However, they cautioned that this was only a first step in the process, noting that they had not been included in the planning for the SJN framework.
