There will be no service on the Wolfe Island Ferry Sunday because of what the Ministry of Transportation calls an "unexpected crew shortage."
The MTO said in a news release early Sunday that ferry service would shut down at 8 a.m. Sunday, with operations expected to resume at 7 p.m. "The impacts of an industry-wide shortage of licensed mariners have affected our staffing compliments ; however we will continue our attempts to secure a qualified crew member in an effort to minimize vessel downtime," the ministry said."We understand the impact that this disruption will have on the local communities that rely on this critical transportation service," the MTO said.
