TOP READ | Counting still at early stage in Gauteng as ANC leads the board
Only one municipality, Lesedi, has concluded the results process in the province. The ANC has retained the municipality with a 50.43% majority, with the DA holding the second spot and the Freedom Front Plus in third place. Lesedi has 40 voting stations and all of them have concluded counting the votes.
According to him, the DA looks to be leading in Tshwane and is hopeful that the numbers will continue to go up so it can retain the metro: He said the party was hopeful that the City of Johannesburg would again be a hung municipality that will be led by a coalition.“We are positive that we are going to do well, considering the challenges which we have experienced while we have been in government, when some of the leaders whom we put there pulled out.
