THUNDER BAY – Confederation College was delighted to welcome Indian diplomat, Consul General Apoorva Srivastava to its main Thunder Bay campus this morning. During her visit, she toured the College and met with Kathleen Lynch, President and Miriam Wall, Dean of International Education.

The occasion marks the first time Consul General Appora Srivastava has visited Confederation College. The last visit from an Indian diplomat was in 2019, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. “We are excited to be able to welcome diplomats back onto our campus. Our school community is made up of indiviuals from around the world and it is an honour to host representatives from the different countries our students come from,” stated Kathleen Lynch.

Confederation College welcomes over 1450 international students each year, with many coming from India. This fall, over 500 international students are expected, the highest intake the college since COVID. The College works with recruiters in different parts of the world to promote Confederation College programs and life in Thunder Bay.

“We’re pleased to host Consul General Apoorva Srivastava and share stories and experiences of our Indian students at the college. Myself and many other staff members have been forunate enough to visit India, where we have always been treated so kindly, I am delighted to have the opportunity to welcome dignitaries from India on campus,” explained Miriam Wall.

Consul General Apoorva Srivastava serves as a representitive of India in Canada. She was delighted to have the opportunity to tour the college, and learn more about the facilities, services and supports that Confederation College provides to international students, including those from India.
