Moya was up against her predecessor and Democratic Alliance councillor - Cilliers Brink - for the top position.
PRETORIA - ActionSA councillor Dr Nasiphi Moya has on Wednesday been elected as the new mayor of the City of Tshwane metropolitan municipality.
The ANC’s Gauteng secretary - Thembinkosi Nciza - said the eight years with the DA at the helm of the capital city had been disastrous. In her first speech to the Tshwane Council, the incoming mayor said all councillors should remember they were elected by the people to serve them. Moya’s predecessor and now leader of the opposition party - Brink - has wished her well, saying her success will be positive for the residents of Tshwane.
