Trampoline gymnast Gleb Evstigneev, attending his second straight Canada Winter Games after competing in Red Deer in 2019, will be the province's flag bearer at this year's Games in P.E.I.

Team Newfoundland and Labrador Canada Winter Games athletes sign the provincial flag at the conclusion of a rally held for them at the PowerPlex in St. John’s on Tuesday. The province will be sending some 250 athletes, coaches, managers and mission staff to the Games being held on Prince Edward Island next month.

“It’s just great to see all of the parents and all of the athletes there to support Team NL,” said Mount Pearl curler Parker Tipple. “They put a great event together and I’m just really excited to go up there with my team, compete and just watch the other sports.” Evstigneev carried the Newfoundland and Labrador flag around the PowerPlex before planting it near the stage.
