Interim tag taken off Jennifer McCarron's position
Charlottetown Deputy Police Chief Jennifer McCarron. FileCHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Jennifer McCarron has been officially named the deputy chief of Charlottetown Police Services.
At a recent meeting of the protective and emergency services committee, Mayor Philip Brown and other members of the committee congratulated McCarron on her position as one of two deputy chiefs of police. McCarron had been serving in the role as interim deputy chief for the past few years, replacing Brad MacConnell, who was promoted to chief after the retirement of Paul Smith in 2021. Before becoming interim deputy chief, McCarron was promoted to sergeant, in charge of the patrol section. That position opened up after Sgt. Chris Watts was promoted to professional standards officer.
