A Charlottetown pet owner is warning others to be careful as conservation officers investigate the death of her dog in an animal trap near a city trail.

Emma, a two-year-old husky mix, was caught in an animal trap and killed on the Wright’s Creek trail system in Charlottetown’s East Royalty neighbourhood on Nov. 2. - Contributed Ashley Travis, communications co-ordinator with the humane society, said Nov. 10 that animal protection officers are working with conservation officers on the investigation but could not provide further comment.Perry said she and her husband, Michael, adopted Emma in March. She often walks her dogs on the trail system at Wright’s Creek, usually in the evening when there are fewer people around.
Perry said she wants to speak out to warn other pet owners and residents to be careful on the trail system.
