Challenge to Tanzania, UAE Ports Agreement Lost In Court Tanzania
The High Court on Thursday, August 10, 2023 dismissed the petition by four citizens who were challenging the Inter-governmental Agreement between Tanzania and the UAE.
The partnership was for performance development and improvement of sea and lake ports in Tanzania, writesThis follows a report by Human Rights Watch on August 7, 2023 that authorities detained or threatened at least 22 people since June 10, 2023, including protesters, after they criticised the Tanzania National Assembly's ratification of an agreement for the management of Tanzania's ports.
