The CFL’s post-season schedule will move to Saturday instead of the current Sunday lineup, commissioner Randy Ambrosie told fans.
REGINA—The CFL’s post-season schedule, excluding the Grey Cup, will move to Saturday instead of the current Sunday lineup starting next year, commissioner Randy Ambrosie said at his annual address with the fans.
At his annual media address earlier Friday, Ambrosie pointed to several developments over the past two years under his tenure that have pushed the league towards stability. The CFL and TSN extended their contract through 2025, bringing over $50 million annually to the league. Ambrosie also said he has “had encouraging conversations” centered on the Alouettes remaining in Montreal, despite minority Gary Stern’s announcement earlier this summer thatAmbrosie dealt briefly with the Argos who play in the biggest market in the CFL. But the team also gets little marketing from their owner, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment.
