Nizaam Carr will captain a Vodacom Bulls side missing a host of Springbok stars for the Champions Cup quarter-final clash with Northampton Saints on Saturday.
Jake White named a heavily changed Vodacom Bulls side for Saturday’s quarter-final at Franklin’s Gardens, with Bok trio Kurt-Lee Arendse, Willie le Roux and Canan Moodie among those left in Pretoria for the match.
Carr takes over the captaincy, starting in a back row alongside Mpilo Gumede and fit-again No 8 Cameron Hanekom. Akker van der Merwe starts at hooker and is flanked by Simphiwe Matanzima and Mornay Smith, while Janko Swanepoel pairs JF van Heerden in a youthful second row. Zak Burger and Chris Smith will resume their halfback partnership in a backline that otherwise has a fresh look to it. Harold Vorster and utility back Henry Immelman form the midfield, while Stravino Jacobs and Sebastian de Klerk are either side of fullback Devon Williams. This content is not behind a paywall and it is Habari Media's commitment that it remains so and access to the content is free.
