Bulls prepare for physical clash against Northampton Saints in Champions Cup quarter-final despite travel challenges.
The Bulls were scheduled to arrive in England on Thursday after leaving South Africa in eight different groups on Tuesday evening.
Veteran loose forward Nizaam Carr addressed the team’s obstacles, saying, “It’s a difficult thing and it’s something I can’t say much about; we just want to be the humble boys and do our job. Maybe we could travel better but it’s really out of our control and we just want to take the humble route.”The Bulls trained in inclement conditions before departing Pretoria, with Carr telling his teammates to expect windy weather and difficult playing conditions.
“We’ve got plans up our sleeves preparing for both types of games; we’re always adding another string to the bow,” Carr said.Carr, who made nearly 80 appearances for the now-defunct English club Wasps between 2017 and 2022, cautioned the Bulls against underestimating the Saints. He highlighted the team’s variations on attack, defence, and ability to score points off turnover ball as key areas to watch out for.
