Carlos Alcaraz suffered a mishap with the Wimbledon trophy during a live TV interview the morning after his incredible victory.
Alcaraz was being interviewed by American broadcaster CNN with the trophy taking pride of place next to him throughout the conversation.The Spaniard managed to grab the trophy before anything too serious happenedCredit: Twitter @CNNThe hosts asked to get a better glimpse at his prize and the 20-year-old went and dropped it.
He recovered it as cooly and calmly as he plays on the tennis court with seemingly no damage sustained. Watching the video on Twitter, Alcaraz posted a series of laughing emojis and is certainly enjoying the last 24 hours as tennis' new star having won the most prestigious grand slam. The trophy he had in his hands was almost certainly a replica anyway because the official trophy does not leave the grounds of the All England Club.
