LETHBRIDGE, ALTA. — The Cape Breton Sooners wrapped up their Canadian Junior Little League Championship visit on Thursday.Cape Breton opened up scoring in the opening inning, when Gavin Noble singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. The Sooners put up three runs in the third inning from Kale MacDonald, Nole Murray and Gavin Rector, who each had RBIs in the inning.
But from the fourth inning onward, Alberta — represented by the Medicine Hat Little League squad — rallied with 13 runs and kept Cape Breton scoreless throughout. Gavin Rector led Cape Breton with two runs. Brody Walker, Coby Meade, Kale MacDonald, Carter Ford and Nole Murray scored on singles, while Murray, Cohen McNeil and Gavin Noble each added an RBI.
The Sooners’ McNeil pitched for five innings, allowing five runs on six hits and striking out five, while Charlie Macleod threw two innings out of the bullpen.
