He wanted to be closer to the front lines, so six weeks later, he joined Siobhans Trust, a Scottish non-profit, and travelled to Medyka, Poland, a village on the border of Ukraine, where he helped prepare hot meals for refugees. “The war is still going on strong and I get reports every day from people that I worked alongside with when I was in Poland/Ukraine at the border, so I get reliable information about what is going on and there’s no sign of it going away,” he said. “I will be here until it gets resolved and then after that, they’re going to need help rebuilding.
