The Islanders scored two goals in each of the second and third periods in a 4-1 victory. The Eagles, who are 19-26-2-1 , moved two points ahead of the Islanders in seventh place in the Eastern Conference.Read moreThe Islanders visit the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Feb. 9, before returning to Eastlink Centre to host the Saint John Sea Dogs on Feb. 10 at 7:30 p.m., and the Moncton Wildcats on Feb. 11 at 7 p.m.
The Islanders are one point ahead of the Titan and three in front of the Sea Dogs in the race for the final playoff spot.Before 1,453 fans at Centre 200 in Sydney, N.S., Ivan Ivan , Cam Squires of Charlottetown, Samuel Johnson and Jacob Newcombe scored for the Eagles, who took a 2-0 lead into the second intermission following a scoreless opening frame. Thomas Lavoie , Xavier Daigle, Olivier Houde and Brayden Schmitt chipped in with assists.
