SYDNEY, N.S. — The Cape Breton Capers men's soccer team added a big recruit to its lineup for the 2023 Atlantic University Sport season. The team announced the commitment of forward Nikolai Scheurenbrand on Tuesday. The native of Germany has never been to Canada but will arrive in Sydney to start his career at Cape Breton University in August.

This season, the 21-year-old Scheurenbrand plays in the German Football League's fourth amateur division with SG Empfingen. Capers head coach Deano Morley describes Scheurenbrand as a"natural born goal scorer" and expects him to make an immediate impact on the club's roster in the fall.The Capers will host the 2023 AUS championship as well as the U Sports Men's Soccer Championship in November.@CBPost_JeremyIt has been our privilege to have the trust and support of our East Coast communities for the last 200 years.
