Calgary Run for the Cure raises nearly $600K for breast cancer research yyc

“It is a lot different from the last two online years. Especially because being in person, you can actually feel a sense of community and passion from everyone. You know that everyone here is really passionate about the cause, so that’s amazing.” It’s an increasingly important cause for people like Laura Crant, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in May of this year. After learning of the run just a few weeks ago, she rallied her family and friends to come out and support the cause, all of whom donned T-shirts bearing the team name “Tata Sisterhood.”Article content
Calgarians participate in the CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 2, 2022. It was the first in-person run since 2019.The run even brought in a few out-of-towners. Lisa McCorquodale said she’s participated in the annual run for the last 15 years in Ontario, but this year she had to come to Calgary for a business trip.
