Calgary Flames sign Sonny Milano to a professional tryout contract

After getting drafted Milano switched development tracks, playing for the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League. He was the best player on a weak Whalers team, finishing with 68 points in 50 games. The next couple of seasons represented a series of highs and lows for Sonny Milano. In 2017-18, he was a regular on the Blue Jackets roster, scoring 14 goals and 22 points in 55 games. However, he played only eight NHL games in the 2018-19 season. His time in Columbus came to an end when he was traded for Devin Shore in February 2020.
