Conference USA announces 11-member league schedule for UAB and other C-USA teams.
UAB's official 2022 schedule is complete following the expected departures of Marshall, Old Dominion and Southern Miss to the Sun Belt. The UAB football program has at least one more season remaining in Conference USA but will do so without three of its previously scheduled opponents for the 2022 season.
The C-USA league office announced the summer departures of Marshal, Old Dominion and Southern Miss yesterday and released an updated 2022 football schedule today for the remaining 11 members of the conference.UAB was originally scheduled to host Marshall and Southern Miss but replaces those opponents with Middle Tennessee State and Charlotte. Additionally, the Blazers drop their away game at UTEP and replace it with a trip to Western Kentucky.
UAB’s non-conference schedule remains intact with home games against Alabama A&M to open the season, Thursday, Sept. 1, and Georgia Southern in the third week of the season. The Blazers make the return trip to Liberty on Sept. 10 and travel to SEC power LSU on Nov. 19. The C-USA title game is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 2. The championship format will be voted on by the remaining 11 members of the league and released at a later date.
The Blazers are coming off a 9-4 campaign that was capped with a 31-28 victory over No. 13 BYU in the 2021 Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl.
