Susan Thorne, 82, and her son Boyd Bond. Thorne lost her house and everything in it on Saturday from the sea surge brought on by hurricane Fiona. Bond said his mother paid house insurance all her life but fears the loss from a sea surge won’t be covered. - Glen Whiffen/The Telegram/SaltWire Network “But this time, everything went. That’s the worst that was ever seen. On Wednesday the provincial government announced $30 million in immediate financial aid to residents impacted by hurricane Fiona. The money will help both those who had insurance and those who didn’t.
