Homeless man, 68, fears living rough again
Come Friday, James Landry, 68, could be back sleeping on the streets of Halifax.
A man rests on the doorstep of the Brunswick Street Mission in Halifax on Sunday afternoon. - Andrew Rankin Leigh MacLean, with Welcome Housing and Support Services, said the situation is an emergency. She’s the team lead of housing support for the Halifax group, which helps the homeless or those at risk of becoming homeless. She said there are hundreds of people living outside, a crisis that needs urgent attention. That starts with making sure people who depend on the Brunswick Street Mission have a place to stay after Friday.
"It’s getting colder, and exposure is a real concern," said Riley. “What do we do, what do I do? Nothing is being done about the housing crisis, and it is a crisis.”
