Manchester City are preparing for the new Premier League season which begins this weekend, and must submit their official squad by the end of the transfer window.
It's been a quiet summer at Manchester City, yet there will still be a very different feel to the club's Premier League squad for the new season.
In terms of the official 25-man squad City have obviously lost Gomez and Alvarez, but they are not the only changes. Of the maximum 25 players named, up to 17 can be 'non homegrown', meaning they were not trained in England and came through an English academy. Any player born on or after January 1 2003 will count as an under-21 player and can be left off the final list.
However, James McAtee is 21 and must now be included on the main list - although he is homegrown. Pep Guardiola says he will be part of the squad this season, and the player himself accepts he will not get as many minutes as he did on loan at Sheffield United last season.
