KIRO 7 News StaffSNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — U.S. 2 is once again closed in the Skykomish area as crews continue to battle the Bolt Creek Fire.
Crews closed the highway between mileposts 49 and 50 at about 2 p.m. Sunday, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. Drivers using westbound Interstate 90 as an alternate route are advised to expect heavy weekend traffic. Officials had previously reopened 4 miles of U.S. 2 between mileposts 46 and 50, which is between Northeast Old Cascade Highway and Skykomish, with reduced speed limits on Thursday.
US 2 is back CLOSED in the Skykomish area. Please be cautious and patient if using the detours. If you're heading to I-90 instead, be prepared for heavy weekend traffic westbound. Follow
