South African baseball team secured their spot in the U18 World Cup in Japan after a dominant victory over Zimbabwe in the African qualifiers. Boksburg Cardinals players contributed significantly to the team's success, helping them win all five matches.
Boksburg Cardinals is beaming with pride after their players helped South Africa qualify for the World Baseball and Softball Confederation U18 World Cup .
Players from the club, including Dean du Plessis, Lefa Motaung, Joshua Botha and JP Samouilhan, were among the players who represented their team in the qualifier. Liam Karels was a reserve. With South Africa's spot in Japan already secured, the final was a breeze as the team wrapped up the competition with another win.“My grandpa coached my father when he was younger, and now my dad is teaching me. Baseball is like a family thing; since I started playing, I loved it,” he said.“The tournament was at the Boksburg Baseball Club, which played a key role in ensuring the event’s success.
